First Presbyterian Saginaw was organized on March 1st, 1838, becoming the first church in the Saginaw Valley. Our first house of worship was dedicated in 1852. Our present sanctuary dates from 1885 and was designed by Fred Hollister. The building reflects elements of Romanesque Revival that were common in Hollister’s style from the 1880’s and 90’s. Below is an historical image of our sanctuary from the Castle Museum of Saginaw. The building has been expanded upon several times. The last renovations took place in 1988 restoring the sanctuary and installing the Casavant organ.
