Our chapel houses a two
manual and pedal Estey Reed Organ from around 1920. The instrument was restored
by Mr. Largent and several of our members during the past two years. Its
beautiful oak case and bellows had sustained water damage so much tender loving
care was needed in the restoration. The façade non-speaking pipes were
stenciled by Richard Helderop and Associates, our organ technician. The
instrument had previously served the Jewish Temple in Bay City, Michigan that
was established by Russian emigrating to the USA These were the same people
depicted in the musical “Fiddler on the Roof”.
